What you already know to get engagement on Facebook

It’s probably not the best idea in the world to start a post with a title like the one I just used. I’m going to tell you something that you probably already know but that you continue to ignore quite successfully. Facebook organic reachPhoto rights by Fotolia Contents [ hide ] 1 My project has 150% organic reach on Facebook 2 How is it possible for a page to get so much organic reach without investing in Facebook Ads? 3 The “secret” is in the segmentation and fitting of the contents My project has an organic reach of 150% on Facebook To avoid confusion and misunderstandings, I am not one to talk to you about Facebook (except for the Ads part, which I control better). I have as much experience with organic reach, Edge Rank, engagement and these things as a blind person with colors. Despite this fact, and because I don’t care too much about making a fool of myself, I’ll talk to you about this anyway. When I talk to people and read about it on blogs, the “magic” figure of the average reach of 10% of a typical Facebook page comes up . Obviously, there are some that do a little better and others that are even far below. I have a specific project that is currently being fed by everything that is happening on Facebook. The organic reach is impressive. Right now each post is getting over 150% ! That means it is easily reaching around 1,500 people without having reached 900 likes. How is it possible for a page to get so much organic reach without investing in Facebook Ads? In a previous post I already told you about this project, explaining some of the tactics used to generate hundreds of leads for less than 100 euros . Since I’m not the person who programmed the Facebook algorithm that gives more or less organic reach to posts, I can only guess based on the little data I have at my disposal . Let me summarize my theory: Investing in Facebook Ads with hyper-precise segmentation (a very niche topic) has helped me generate a high engagement ratio (comments, likes, shares , clicks). I didn’t ask my friends to “like” my page for the launch phase. Avoiding this temptation has ensured that I always have a 100% interested audience for my content. The combination of photo, text and tone has connected with the community, creating and strengthening links. I myself would not have known how to do this type of copywriting for social media. You need talented people who can put themselves in the shoes of the target audience. Being able to segment so precisely. This last point is key because it is specific to the field I am working in and it is difficult to replicate in such a way in other niches. The “secret” is in the segmentation and fitting of the contents To give you an idea of why people interact so much with our content on Facebook, I’ll take an example from a field that I know a little better: online marketing in general. The possibilities you have to segment in this field could be the following: Online Marketing > SEO > White Hat > Linkbuilding > Free links > Links with DA higher than 30. A person who is interested in SEO is not interested in everything you are going to tell them about online marketing. Within web positioning, there are different facets of white, grey or black. Then there are those who are obsessed with links and even here there is a subgroup of those who only look for authoritative links . If you are able to target people interested in links with DA>30 and you offer them a link with that characteristic in each post, it is perfectly understandable that this will generate a lot of interactions. If instead you talk to them about Onpage SEO or internal links, you will not have the same reaction because despite being of interest to some of them, there will be others who will not pay attention to it. There are very few niches where you will be able to create this perfect fit between target audiences with practically identical interests and deliver 100%
